I never/seldom agree with Larsinger...but I will defend his rights to express himself om this forum. I am a bit shamed to say that I sometimes ignore some of his posts. But, nevertheless I think it is important to be tolerant to each others in this forum.
I myself was rude to a believer some months ago....maybe I was a bit provoked...but I learned to know thats this poster/believer is a very nice and kind person. I am still ashamed about that.
Perheaps Larsinger is a very nice and kind person? Who knows? Who are we to judge him?
We can disagree with him, and it's fine with that...and he can disagree with us. But let's not act like bullies.

TTATT Billboards?
by Emery inhas anyone ever thought about paying for a billboard close to either an assembly hall or a kingdom hall during memorial season?
for instance i would probably pay for a billboard for a week or 2 displaying jwfacts.com on the highway or a nearby road that witnesses travel on heavily.
has anyone ever tried something like this?.

if the rapture started now?
by fakesmile insince the majority would be "left behind", i wonder.
clearly the hard workers who neglected "spiritual things" to persue a career in the science field or just working with the hands will be of the many left.
what would this world be like if all fundies just dissappeared.

I think it is mostly evangelical christians and pentecostals.
Didn't you notice the May 21th campaign by Harold Camping? He set a date for the rapture, a lot of people mostly in the US believed in it.
I think he after that day said that the rapture was invisible.....I just wonder where he learned that trick! But, of course, he could have stated that the rapture was just a sexual one! But he seemed to like the invisible better!

Field service is personal ministry
by Dismissing servant ina publisher in a congregation doesn't represent the watchtower organisation (due to legal reasons/insurance etc) .
they just represent themselves as individuals.
so why are publishers supposed to hand in their reports to the congregation/wts?

This had an important role in the Steven Unthank case in Australia. Related to paedophilia and eorking with children.
"Unlike many religious organisations, congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses do not sponsor any activities that separate, or isolate, children from their parents. For example, we do not organise Sunday Schools, camps, excursions, religious instructions at schools, or any other activities for children.
"Nevertheless, an adult publisher may, as part of their own personal ministry, have regular contact with a minor, that is a person under 18 years of age who is not a family member, such as when conducting a regular Bible study. Such Bible study activity is part of a publisher's personal ministry "... I'll read that again, again ... Such Bible study activity is part of a perp ... publisher's personal ministry and the publisher is not a representative of the Borg ... (whistle) ... Sorry, I'll start that sentence again. "Such Bible study activity is part of a publisher's personal ministry and the publisher is not a representative or a volunteer of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of Australia."

Our door to door activities were a personal ministry and not recognised as representatives or volunteers of the Watchtower Bible And Tract Society
by smiddy inhow do you feel about that ?were you misled (again) after all these years ?
this article from the newspaper in the latrobe area reffering to steven unthanks case is truly disturbing.
its an affront and an insult to any and everyone who has participated in the ministry of jehovah`s witnesses over many, many years.talk about being thrown to the wolves.how low can this organization go in saving face at the expense of those whose loyalty and devotion is discarded for a perceived image.absolutely shocking.

** km 2/89 p. 3 Our Identification as Jehovah's Witnesses ***
As ministers of the good news, we are known publicly as Jehovah's Witnesses. Our voluntary participation in the field service is motivated by love of God and neighbor. It is not carried on at the insistence of any man or organization but is according to our God-given commission to preach the "good news" and make disciples. (Matt. 24:14; 28:19, 20) Therefore, publishers do well to avoid representing themselves as agents or representatives of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York, Inc., or any other corporation used by "the faithful and discreet slave" to advance Kingdom interests.-Matt. 24:45-47. -

Yes, it has to do with legal liability. The org takes no responability if something happens to JW's when in field cirkus.

Are the Witnesses Really Losing Their Young People?
by What Now? inthat article about jehovah's witnesses having the lowest retention rate for born ins keeps popping up every now again ... i'm just curious if any of you have noticed that this is actually the case.
in the congregation that i grew up in, i'm going to say that 95% of the young people in their teens to mid twenties are either regular pioneering, regular auxiliary pioneering, serving in foreign language congregations or where the need is greater.
both of my younger sisters are regular pioneers - and the young people in their hall even organize 8 pm to midnight service on friday nights of their own accord.

"There are even cases in which Witless teenagers got DF'd en masse because their pioneering involved sleeping together while counting time."
Being young pioneers they perheaps were striving to get in to Gilead, and thus had interest in trying the "missionary position"?
I have heared about some wild parties at the assembly camping....but that was after I left the organisation.
